In-House Projects

In addition to the projects we fund for our grantees, we also create and implement some programs of our own. Tombigbee RC&D’s in-house projects are designed, by our office staff, to address unmet needs identified in our communities.

Supplies for Success

To all the teachers that spend so much time, energy, and money caring for our communities’ children, we want to say THANK YOU!

To express our gratitude, we have created Supplies for Success. This project will relieve elementary school teachers of the burden of purchasing classroom supplies with their own money, allowing them to better focus on the other needs of their students. We will do this by providing standard classroom supplies, as well as fulfilling teachers’ requests for supplies needed for their specific classrooms.

Application Info:

We will be accepting applications until June 15, 2025.
The application is a simple online form that will assess the needs of the applicant’s classroom.
Recipients will be notified via email by July 15, 2025.

Backpack & School Supply Distribution Campaign

The annual Tombigbee RC&D School Supply Distribution project serves to provide students with backpacks and school supplies. In 2023, we delivered over 1000 backpacks and school supplies to 16 organizations in our service area.

For this project, we also collaborated with former professional football player, Tony Dixon. He donated an additional 200 bookbags to his alma mater, Reform Elementary School.

First aid kits for all

With funding from The Caring Foundation, Tombigbee RC&D launched First Aid Kits For All in 2024. This project aims to ensure that members of our communities are well-prepared for life’s physical accidents. Unfortunately, first aid kits are often overlooked until an accident occurs.

Throughout the summer of 2024, we distributed around 400 first aid kits to residents of all 8 counties in our service area.
